CSS Framework Basics Prototyping with Bootstrap Building a Fixed Navbar

Problem with my ul element.

I thought I was doing something wrong but I downloaded the project files, I loaded the site in my localhost and I have the same problem.

I found the solution in the bootstrap documentation. You have to wrap the button and a elements in a div class="navbar-header"

<div class="navbar navbar-inverse navbar-fixed-top">
        <div class="container">
            <div class="navbar-header">
                <button type="button" class="navbar-toggle" data-toggle="collapse" data-target=".navbar-collapse">
                    <span class="icon-bar"></span>
                    <span class="icon-bar"></span>
                    <span class="icon-bar"></span>
                </button>
                <a class="navbar-brand text-muted" href="#">Ribbit</a>
            </div>
            <div class="collapse navbar-collapse">
                <ul class="nav navbar-nav navbar-right">
                    <li class="active"><a href="#">Home</a></li>
                    <li><a href="#">About Ribbit</a></li>
                    <li><a href="#">Treehouse</a></li>
                </ul>
            </div>
        </div>
    </div>
