Problems with the index.html code challenge, Treehouse staff please answer.

I'm currently trying to work my way through one of the html code challenges but the where the cursor is highlighted is actually different to where my coding is written. So, basically when I type I have no idea where the writing is going to start. I have my cursor at the start of a line with an indentation but then when I start to type it starts about 6 places ahead, then it will change and be 3 0r 4 places behind! When I'm at the end of a line and press enter to go down and give me a free line it chops the line in half. This is really annoying. Anyone help with this?? Thanks.
