project files not compatible with android studio

I am wondering if anyone reading this has any experience migrating a project from eclipse to android studio. When I open the starting project files using android studio and try to run it says that the project is not a grade based project. I completed the previous project, but I had some unresolved errors and the code was kind of buggy so I would much rather start fresh. If anyone can help me get started on android studio with the implementing designs for android course, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks Timothy, I was able to resolve. I actually don't remember exactly the issue I was having. I went to migrate project (it says eclipse and some other IDE's in parenthesis) in the android studio startup and was easily able to import the files from there.
