pulling values out of array and adding them up

how do i pull values out of an array and add them to the sum

while.swift
let numbers = [2,8,1,16,4,3,9]
var sum = 0
var counter = 0

// Enter your code below
while counter < numbers.count {
  counter++
  var newValue = numbers
  sum += newValue

Shane, you don't need to create any new variables. You need to access the values in the array using subscript notation, and you need to increment the counter after you use it, rather than before, or you will miss getting numbers[0], the first value in the array:

while counter < numbers.count {
  sum += numbers[counter]
  counter++
}
