Hiya there! If you've basic knowledge of SQL, it wont get confusing while you're tryna get hang of it. Every back-end language deals with data persistence coz its one of the most important part of server side. But you dont really need to understand jSON 'coz jSON is just a string formatted as associative array/JS objects. Its literally a formatted string. Thats all you need to know about jSON. john knight if you wanna learn json, you might need to head to api track of Treehouse. But i'd rather suggest you to go through this course. It'll tell you everything you need to know about jSON. Good luck! (:
