What are your career interests? If you want to develop mobile applications for Android, then Java is definitely the way to go. On the other hand, if you want to develop server-side web applications (which happens to be what I do), then C#.

But if you have something else in mind, mention it and perhaps someone will have a suggestion for that as well.

And I'm flattered, but I'm not qualified to be a career counselor. You might want to change the title on this question to show what you're asking about and not specifically who. That might help you to get some more opinions from other folks. The more opinions you get, the better for making a decision.

You did say "i’m talking about the job market", so I'm guessing you don't intend this to be a hobby always. And even if so, your language choice will most likely be influenced by what you intend to develop later on.

I can tell you that in my job, the languages I use most are C# and JavaScript, plus a good deal of HTML and CSS.

Steven Parker Its not for a job.. I'm a student who have some free time. its an hobby , I tried some android development its nice but idk.. C# could be fun, but I can develop web apps with java as well... it seem like c# becoming very popular among enterprises as well... Like i said im a student, the decision i make here wont change anything XD, I just want to focus at 1 language.

For a noobie like me which combination of language would u advise to learn? c# and python c# and js etc..

thanks!
