Ruby learning

I want to learn ruby and be able to create web applications. I have little html and css knowledge and no other experience.

I'm going to take:

  1. Learn Ruby Track
  2. Rails Developement Track

am I taking the right path? I'd really appreciate insights and guidance of those who have made it in Ruby or any other programming language. I'm now a few steps into the "learn Ruby" Track and once I finish this track I will start the "Rails Developement" Track.

I am desperate to learn and am putting 10 hours a day studying this language. it worries me that I might be taking the wrong steps.

thank you!

Another answer:

If you feel like you're struggling with the HTML or CSS and how the templates in Rails work, or get stuck when you start doing database migrations, or even if you have it down you don't understand exactly what you're doing with them, you can always put it on hold and go check out the HTML courses or the Front End Developer track.

You can always come back to something later, where maybe the full understanding of the environment you're in will let you focus more fully on Ruby or Rails.

Ten hours a day, though, and you'll get through whatever material you want eventually. :)

To be honest, the Rails track is out-of-date and needs updating.
