Python Python Collections (2016, retired 2019) Dictionaries Teacher Stats

Same code can only be passed in my own terminal, but not in the Challenge, I would like to figure out why.

Hello, do you guys have any ideas why? Any help would be appreciated.

teachers.py
# The dictionary will look something like:
# {'Andrew Chalkley': ['jQuery Basics', 'Node.js Basics'],
#  'Kenneth Love': ['Python Basics', 'Python Collections']}
#
# Each key will be a Teacher and the value will be a list of courses.
#
# Your code goes below here.

def stats(dict):
    dict_list = []
    for key in dict.keys():
        dict[key] = len(dict[key])
    for key, value in dict.items():
        dict_list.append([key, value])
    return dict_list

If I simplified the code as below:

def stats(dict);
    dict_list = []
    for key, value in dict.items():
        dict_list.append([key, len(value)]
    return dict_list

It then works fine. That's odd.
