Search bar persists on every view

Everything appears to be working but when I segue into the next view the search bar doesnt go away automatically

Could you at your .xcodeproj file to this? That'd make it easier for me to open/compile the whole thing in Xcode

In SearchResultsController.swift

Add the line

definesPresentationContext = true

at the bottom of viewDidLoad()
