HTML HTML Basics Getting Started with HTML Lists and Links Challenge

seems like a coding quiz might be broken.

I can't seem to figure out whats wrong with this code. I have reloaded it from scratch 3 times and it wont pass me. Keeps telling me that the second list item is wrong but its exactly the same as the other two... :(

index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>

    <li> <a href="cakes.html">Cakes</li>
    <li> <a href="pies.html">Pies</li>
    <li> <a href="candy.html">Candy</li></ul>

Hi Nick. You don't have closing 'a' tags. They should go just before the closing 'li' tags.

Like this

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <title>Lists and Links</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <ul>
      <li><a href="cakes.html">Cakes</a></li>
      <li><a href="pies.html">Pies</a></li>
      <li><a href="candy.html">Candy</a></li>
    </ul>
  </body>
</html>

Oooh! Thanks so much! I was thinking <a> was a self closing tag.
