SELECT statements not working

When I put a select statement onto workbench, the databases do not show up. A spinning wheel shows up next to the action in the action output section, but it doesn't turn red or green.

Did you try double clicking the Database name in your Schema tree on the left? It's name needs to be bold before the queries will correctly query it.
