serializer.save() method

what does the method serializer.save() do? does it call the save method of serializer class? Does it store the entry into the database?

Many developers end up asking the same question.

To answer this question, you can do a good ol' fashion google search. In fact, developers do so many google searches that once a developer I know was asked, "You get paid how much to do Google Searches!?"
