Should the scrum-master be an experienced software engineer? i.e. know how to code, etc.

Should scrum-master be an experienced software engineer? i.e. know how to code, etc. Obviously this helps. But to what extent? Can a person with almost zero coding experience be a great scrum master?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_R9wQY4G5I This is a good sample of good and bad stand up (The biggest responsibility of scrum master). It helps to have coding experience but not necessary. Having Leadership soft skill is more important, i think.
