Should We Host The site ?

I have finished the php basics course and I didn't do the very last part where we have to host the site ! I do understand what was covered After the hosting but I was wondering wether I can go through this course even though I didn't host the site ?

It will show you how to host it but you dont have to physically go and host it if you don't want to.
