Your code should be as follows

<!doctype html>
<html>
  <head>
    <title>List Example</title>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="styles.css">
  </head>
  <body>

    <a class = "social-links" href="#">Follow me on Twitter!</a>
    <a class = "social-links" href="#">Send me an Email!</a>

  </body>
</html>
.social-links {
    padding: 15px;
    margin: 10px;
}

Note the omitted colons (:) in the css, the extra semicolon (;) after the css rule, and the omitted " in the anchor tags class attributes in your HTML.
