Solving a "try" function

Hello there,

I'm trying to solve the last problem of the video "The Exception to the Rule".

Can you please help me with the code.

try:
    total = float(number1) + float(number2)
except ValueError:
    return(None)
else:
    return(total)

add(7, 3)

It looks like you understand all of the logic, but made a couple of syntax errors:

  • Missing colon at end of function header.
  • Function body not indented.
def add(number1, number2):
    try:
        total = float(number1) + float(number2)
    except ValueError:
        return(None)
    else:
        return(total)
