.split() and then assign a new variable

This is challenge 1 after this video. How can I split a string, using .split(), and assign its result to a new variable?

banana.py 
available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white"
"banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white".split(";")
sundaes = ['banana split', 'hot fudge', 'cherry', 'malted', 'black and white']

Hi Wendy,

Here is an example of a string that gets split up. It will automatically be put into a list. Try out my code in workspaces and check out the output. From there I think you can sort it out!

my_string = "I;want;to;split;this;sentence;up"
print my_string.split(";")

Cheers
