Statements won't execute

I typed in:

SELECT * FROM movies;

SELECT * FROM actors;

and several minutes later, it's still fetching. Does anyone have any idea why please? Thanks in advance. :)

Have you actually selected the database schema to use?

I am using version 6.9, which isn't the version Andrew is using, but the functionality is very similar.
