what is wrong here ?

strings.py 
dicts = [
    {'name': 'Michelangelo',
     'food': 'PIZZA'},
    {'name': 'Garfield',
     'food': 'lasanga'},
    {'name': 'Walter',
     'food': 'pancakes'},
    {'name': 'Galactus',
     'food': 'worlds'}
]

string = "Hi, I'm {name} and I love to eat {food}!"

def string_factory(dicts,string) :
      for d in dicts :
          stringlist += string.format(**d)

      return stringlist

You were close, but you need to define a local string_list array before your for loop, and then you need to use the append method on string_list. If you use += you'll be adding each individual letter to the array instead of each sentence.

def string_factory(dicts, string):
    string_list = []

    for dict in dicts:
        string_list.append(string.format(**dict))

    return string_list
