String.format doesn't format the text

String pageText = mCurrentPage.getText(); // Add the name if placeholder included pageText = String.format(pageText, "%1$s" , mName); mTextView.setText(mCurrentPage.getText());

It didn't work with only "pageText, mName", so I tried with this and it still doesn't work. Text is still %1$s or %1$S, depending on what I write, because I tried with capital S too. Help?
