stuck on a task challenge question. need help to be able to move forward

Challenge Task 1 of 1 Add code inside the <script> tags to write the words "Welcome to my site" onto the web page.

comes up as- bummer you didnt call the document.write function

You need to wrap your string with a parenthesis (no need for spaces), in order for it to work. like this.

document.write("welcome to my site")

still coming up as bummer with the same reason. What am I doing wrong here?

If you look closely you'll see that you're writing your code outside of the script tag. which is the opening and closing script tags <script></script> JavaScript code must go inside the a script tags when written inside your html file. Also you can remove this comment "// Write your code here." They're ignored by browser, they're just for human readability.

The correct code should look as simple as this.

    document.write("Welcome to my site");
</script>
