Android Threads and Services Threads in Android Handle it!

stuck on the message I should send

I do not know how to send or what to send as a message to the handler, I tried to send a twitterClient as an obj but it didn't work. Please help me

MainActivity.java
public class MainActivity extends Activity {
  Button button;
  TwitterClient twitterClient = new TwitterClient();

  @Override
  public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
    setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);

    final TwitterThread twitterThread = new TwitterThread();
    twitterThread.setName("TwitterThread");
    twitterThread.start();

    button = (Button) findViewById(R.id.update_button);
    button.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {
      @Override
      public void onClick(View v){
        Message message = Message.obtain();
        message.obj = twitterClient;
        twitterThread.handler.sendMessage(message);
      }
    });
  }

  class TwitterHandler extends Handler{
    @Override
    public void handleMessage(Message msg){
      twitterClient.update();
    }
  }

  class TwitterThread extends Thread {
    TwitterHandler handler = null;
    @Override
    public void run() {
      Looper.prepare();
      handler = new TwitterHandler();
      Looper.loop();
    }
  }
}

Hello Mohammed,

You're so close! The only issue in your code is inside the button onClick listener. You don't need to set message.obj. Remove that line and you should pass the challenge. It should be like the following.

public void onClick(View v){
    Message message = Message.obtain();
    twitterThread.handler.sendMessage(message);
}

I hope this helps.

Thank you so much! I guess it worked
