Stuck...what am I doing wrong here?

Trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong.. any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should not use the function name inside of its own declaration. Instead, use the jQuery object $username when you invoke the method named length. The jQuery object is created by assignment at the top of the file, (var $username = $("#username") enabling you to invoke methods from the API, without rewriting the quotes and parenthesis again.

The challenge is asking to create a condition statement to return true IF the username value is greater than 0. So your code should look like this.

function isUsernamePresent() {
  if($username.val().length > 0){
    return true;
  }
}
