Remove the angle brackets "<>" and it should work :)

The problem, Marc, is that you've confused CSS and HTML syntax.

HTML characters are enclosed within angled brackets, creating an opening or closing tag...

<p>Hello world</p>

... but these brackets are not carried over to CSS selectors. All you need is the HTML element the rule applies to...

p {
  background-color: #000;
}

So, to fix your code, remove the angled brackets in your CSS!
