How can covert 1sq. inches to 1sq. feet?

area.swift
// the height and width of a wall
let height = 120.0 // in inches
let width = 144.0 // in inches

\\ 1sq. inches = 1sq. feet / 0.88333

let areaInFeet = Double(height) * width

1 Answer

If you divide the inches by 12 first, then calculate the area, you'll have square feet:

let height = 120.0 // in inches
let width = 144.0 // in inches

var areaInFeet = (width / 12) * (height / 12)

I hope that makes sense!

Steve.
