I keep getting an error for "pies.html", any ideas where I'm going wrong?

Hi Luke,

You've almost got it, There are a few syntax errors.

the <a></a> element isn't a direct descendant of the <ul></ul> hence it cannot act as a list item.

rather the order should be: (<li><a href="cakes.html">Cakes</a></li> )

UL - stands for an unordered list, only LI is a descendant of it and can markup and list-item.

So inside the code should look like this :

<ul>
  <li><a href=""></a></li>
  <li><a href=""></a></li>
  <li><a href=""></a></li>
</ul>
