47,878 PointsHi Steve, The answer to your question is yes. They are optional AND they are recommended. They will enhance your understanding, but you don't have to read them all. Also, if you find you are struggling with something, it helps to go a few videos back to the point where you got confused and look for that extra information to help you get back on track.
