terminal on mac, I tried sudo adduser under home directory, it returns sudo: adduser: command not found.

I am very new to console. I tried terminal on my mac to follow Jims video , and when I tried sudo adduser under the home directory, it returns sudo: adduser: command not found, does anyone can explain a bit to me why I could not create it? Many thanks.

On a mac you use the directory service command line to add users. Bit different to Linux! (http://www2.lns.mit.edu/compserv/how.to/mac_account.html)
