9,901 PointsThese are two editors I personally use and recommend: Sublime Text and Adobe Brackets
This one is currently in beta, but looks to be promising: Github Atom

9,523 PointsI have been using Brackets. It is free and works for me. Coda is nice as well.

50,595 PointsHi Carisa,
on a Mac Sublime Text - but i like Coda too :)

39,261 PointsI'm with Patrick on using brackets. It's free and really customizable, I love the themes and the free add-ons you can download from inside the app from code hints to Ruby on Rails and Node.js commands. I'd try that first. But if you feel you have the money to spare and want to use something more of an industry standard, then use sublime text. Dreamweaver is overrated once you learn how to code for real.

17,730 PointsI use Netbeans for any project with more than one file. Being unable to move files around in projects on editors like SublimeText (please let me know if there's a workaround for this) has been such a killer for me.
Though I'm going to try out Atom here soon.
