Python Python Collections (Retired) Lists Redux List creation/extension methods

The "adding 1 to last index question" says my answer is incorrect!

i filled with my_list.extend(1) but it says its wrong!! what is correct answer then?!?!

.append()

Jeez! i almost forgot about that one haha! Thanks! But doesn't extend do the same as append?!

I'm not sure exactly what the difference is, I always use append(); but the impression I got was that it worked pretty much the same way.
