The course doesn't specify how to retrieve data via a php script which can output the JSON data into html for editing

I want to build a an application. I can't find a good tutorial anywhere concerning the output of retrieved JSON data into html. I also find the curl explanation non practical for use in a live application. I want to learn how to use the curl request (to retrieve JSON data concerning lists) in a php script
