the instructions and MAMP have changed. I can't the second part wp- after testsite.com to come up in Index on the MAMP

This video is outdated. MAMP has changed. With the old instructions I can't get the wp... option to plug into the Index of / page for MAMP. Please advise.

I just followed the same instructions to get my installation running using MAMP. The interface has changed slightly, but the functionality is the same. Can you be more specific on the issue you are having?

Hi Sarah,

Just spotted this question as unanswered, sorry nobody got back to you sooner!

I recently took the plunge and purchased DesktopServer from ServerPress. It does the same thing as mamp and sets up a local working environment for you to run WordPress install, it just does it whole lot better for the WordPress developer!

I did go for the premium version by WOW pushing a site live to a server with the direct deploy was the so simple in comparison to the usual stuff required.

I had used xammp(im on windows) for over a year which is basically mamp and this is in another league to be honest. Not to mention the support I got to fix a little bug with my ports was unbelievable!

Cant stress enough how much this would help your development of WP sites and well as speeding up workflow.
