I am confused and would appreciate if anyone can tell me where im going wrong. When i submit the form on my page the body does not change for me, here is my code:

<?php if ($_SERVER["REQUEST_METHOD"] == "POST") { $name = $_POST["name"]; $email = $_POST["email"]; $message = $_POST["message"]; $email_body = ""; $email_body = $email_body . "Name: " . $name . "\n"; $email_body = $email_body . "Email: " . $email . "\n"; $email_body = $email_body . "Message: " . $message;

//TODO: Send Email

header("Location: contact.php?$status=thanks");
exit;

} ?><?php $pageTitle = "Contact Mike"; $section = "contact"; include('includes/header.php'); ?>

<div class="section page">

    <div class="wrapper">

        <h1>Contact</h1>

        <?php if(isset($_GET["status"]) AND $_GET["status"] == "thanks") { ?>
            <p> Thanks for the email! We&rsquo;ll be in touch soon.</p>
        <?php } else { ?>

            <p>I&rsquo;d love to hear from you! Complete the form to send me an email.</p>

            <form method="post" action="contact.php">
                <table>
                    <tr>
                        <th>
                            <label for="name">Name</label>
                        </th>
                        <td>
                            <input type="text" name="name" id="name">
                        </td>
                    </tr>
                    <tr>
                        <th>
                            <label for="email">Email</label>
                        </th>
                        <td>
                            <input type="text" name="email" id="email">
                        </td>
                    </tr>
                    <tr>
                        <th>
                            <label for="message">Message</label>
                        </th>
                        <td>
                            <textarea name="message" id="message"></textarea>
                        </td>
                    </tr>
                </table>
                <input type="submit" value="send">
            </form>

        <?php } ?>
    </div>

</div>

<?php include('includes/footer.php'); ?>

Any help is much appreciated!

Many Thanks.

The issue is related to the following line:

header("Location: contact.php?$status=thanks");
exit;

The GET variable should not have a dollar sign before it. Later in the app, you do the following check:

        <?php if(isset($_GET["status"]) AND $_GET["status"] == "thanks") { ?>
            <p> Thanks for the email! We&rsquo;ll be in touch soon.</p>
        <?php } else { ?>

which is looking for a GET variable named "status" not "$status." Change your header location to the following to fix this issue:

header("Location: contact.php?status=thanks");
exit;
