The path does not appear around an object in direct selection mode. What am I doing wrong?

In direct selection mode the path does not appear around my objects no matter how many times I click the object. I am using the Illustrator in the cloud and I know the videos are done using v6. Could that be different between the two different versions? Also, group selection wont put a bounding box around my groups no matter how many times I click. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Jaclyn, you might try hitting Ctrl + H (for PC) or Command + H (for Mac). This toggles off viewing the edges. Same as View >>> Show Edges. Worth a try.

Braden, Thank you so much. That worked!!! Is that something I changed accidentally (hiding the path) or a setting that I needed to change?
