The Treehouse Showcase

I'm looking for a bit of inspiration. I joined Treehouse as I had a business idea that I'd like to one day create. But I'm a long way from having the skills to put it all together.

In the meantime I'd like to create something that I can develop over time as a way to practice but I'm not really sure what to create.

So I thought I'd ask the Treehouse community what they have created. Post a link and maybe a brief description of your inspiration, or ideas behind the site. Hopefully it will encourage and inspire us all.

When I first started off in development I had a few skills (HTML, CSS, Java and PHP). One of the first official and great things I created was a portfolio website.

It is a great tool if you are looking for employment or freelancing work - as well as lets you showcase some of your best skills on your own personal site!

If you want to go deeper, developing applications is also another path, a little more work and research may be involved to get there (unless you already have skills in place).

But what it all comes down to in my opinion is what you feel like creating! If you feel like a website - do some research, check out sites you like, think of how you can recreate elements that caught your eye, what can you add to make it better?
