CSS CSS Basics (2014) Enhancing the Design With CSS Box Shadows

This does not work for me because the webpage fills 100% of the window size. I loaded the page on Chrome and Safari.

I can see how this would work but I am just unable to see the results. I believe that perhaps it would work if the page loaded as showed in the video. But the way my file loads, it is a full screen webpage.

Asterisk instead of bullet point for universal selector at the top maybe? Or maybe im confused too.
