This incident will be reported..? I'm confused

I tried to change the file of hello.txt permission to my user name using sudo chown but it gave me an error saying "This incident will be reported". What did I do incorrectly...? Very confused

Seems like you are not in the sudoers file. The message you received is the automatic message you receive when something like this fails. Which is not abnormal, I assume you tried this in a workspace, where access might be restricted for security purposes.

Don't worry, I don't think anyone actually looks at the reports. And even if, it's not that you will actually get in trouble for it (if you are worried about that :P)

Haha I was a bit worried at first but then I realized, I'm sure I'm not the only dummy to create this error lol and thank you for the info I didn't get why but that makes sense!
