This is frustrating as hell

Why does this not work? ``` NSString *username = self.usernameField.text; NSString *password = self.passwordField.text;

answer:

self.username = self.usernameField.text;
self.password = self.passwordField.text;

the question could be better written. it is easy to overlook they are both properties.
