I really hate classes like calculus, linear algebra, and algorithms and data structures and feel like theyve taken alot of time that could have been spent programming. And now ive started seeing all these treehouse commercials about how dumb it is to get a csci degree so im dropping out.
so new plan: im gonna get super good at coding until i can make my own company and then sell it for 600 million.
First im gonna be number 1 on treehouse and beat that CJ guy
and i wont stop until ive succeeded

6,086 PointsI don't believe treehouse can replace the college, if you young it's better to finish college. In my case i finished electrical engineering degree but never worked at it. And I wanted to change my work (as technician) to what I think I like more. But to take new degree at 33 it is very hard, a want to study programming with a half year . I understand that what I could learn it is just basic but here treehouse is good, it can give you the start for your study.

Courses Plus Student 8,320 PointsIf you Reaaally love coding and have a passion for it, by all means drop out! Programming is one of those careers where practical knowledge is way more important than theoretical knowledge. Remember programming and coding is not as fancy and pretty as it may seem.
