Treehouse Workspaces very slow and unresponsive?

I'm not sure why, but the Treehouse Workspace for Java is very, very slow and barely responsive. There is a very noticeable delay with typing for the console and the project files area, and clicking through each window requires multiple clicks before it registers.

I'm not sure if this is a fault on my end or not, but running other programs like Eclipse, Android Studio and Visual Studio run flawlessly and don't display any of these issues.

Is there a hardware acceleration setting I can apply? In failing that, how do I fix this issue?
