trouble understanding declaring SELECT * FORM comments!!?

Did you perhaps mean to say FROM instead of "FORM"? If so, the FROM keyword goes before the name of the table where you want to get your data. And the asterisk ("*") symbol is what is known as a "wildcard" that stands for all columns. So "SELECT * " just means "give me everything".

So for example, if you wanted to get all the data in a table named "widgets", you might write:

SELECT * FROM widgets;
