TTL

Why is the TTL of teamtreehouse.com 1 day and 1 min for google? Why is there such a huge difference? What do these terms mean-"retry", "refresh", "expire"?

To answer your first question the reason is that teamtreehouse.com does not change as quickly as google does. Google is constantly changing (each second) what appears on search results while teamtreehouse.com may add 1 or 2 courses per day and thus is fine with a high TTL.
