UI Designers Interested in Collaborating on Existing iOS App?

Hey guys,

Here's the rundown. I have an App that I consider more-or-less ready to be released, other than the visual design. I have the skills to design it myself but I'd rather focus my energy on building a new app I have in mind. I'm headed to WWDC in June and would like to have one or two apps live in the App Store by then that I can refer potential employers to. It doesn't pay anything and there are only a couple of pages (2 page tabbed app) to design but if you're looking for a real world app that will be released to the public (for free) to add to your portfolio this is a good opportunity. I'll also try to work a credit into the app somewhere. If not, at the least, you'll get credit on the app store page. If you're interested, shoot me an email at patrickcl75@gmail.com. Preferably with a portfolio link.

If things go well there may be the potential for more collaboration in the future.

Thanks guys!

I'm curious what happened with this app. There are always people posting that they need help (for free) on something almost finished. Did anyone ever respond? Is the app live?

Yeah it got done. It's in the app store under myGymBrain. You can look it up. I'm too lazy to get the link. It's not exactly what the designer had come up with. I had to drop a few elements because I had issues with auto layout and I was under a time crunch for WWDC. It hasn't been updated since release because I've been focused on other stuff. And yeah, I asked for help for free, I'm not monetizing it in any way. As far as I'm concerned that makes it a collaboration - a mutual portfolio piece - rather than someone doing work for me. The designer got credit in the app description.

Paying for designers/developers shows a level of commitment. That's why I was wondering if this was ever completed.
