UI/UX vs Human computer interaction & usability engineering

So i am studying human computer interaction and usability engineering and i just wanted to know from you uXers and interface designers is are these two the same thing or is hci and usability engineering different ?

UX is related to both visual design of an interface as well as HCI-style research to create that interface.
