Upcoming Topic Idea: Designing for younger users

I am working on a project currently where I have to design a completely separate interface for our younger audience for this site. The ages will range from about 8 - 12.

Wouldn't it be great to have a track specific to designing for children or designing for students? With tips for designing for this age group and maybe a fun project attached?

Just a thought. If you have any thoughts on designing for a younger audience, please feel free to post below.

Well, I would say that speed is a large factor to a younger generation. Attention spans are low and if the site takes longer to load or the site is hard to navigate (Less than 2 clicks to reach a destination) you will most likely lose that youngster.

Also, we all know that teens love to connect with friends via social media. Which means if they like something they will share it with their 15k+ friends. I would recommend adding in social links, shares, etc.
