JavaScript AJAX Basics (retiring) Programming AJAX Check for the correct ready state

use a DOM element's innerHTML property to set the HTML inside the sidebar div to the server's response code challenge??

Hi all

Just trying to complete this challenge and looked at my notes and looked on forum and cant figure out whats wrong? It keeps saying task 1 no longer passes after i add in .innerHTML = xhr.responseText

var xhr = new XMLHttpRequest();
xhr.onreadystatechange = function() {
  if (xhr.readyState ===4) {
    if (xhr.status === 200) {
    };
  };
  document.getElementById('sidebar').innerHTML = xhr.responseText;
};
xhr.open('GET', 'sidebar.html');
xhr.send();

Any ideas please??

Never mind....I played with the code slightly looking back at video and this worked...

 xhr.onreadystatechange = function () {
   if (xhr.readyState === 4 && xhr.status === 200){
    document.getElementById('sidebar').innerHTML = xhr.responseText;
    }
    };
