var lastName = document.getElementsByTagName("last_name")[1]; isn't working

I'm not sure why this isn't working..

You're super close. You're using the class name of "last_name" rather than the type of element. You should be using span instead. 

var lastName = document.getElementsByTagName("span")[1];
