HTML Introduction to HTML and CSS (2016) Make It Beautiful With CSS Test: Styling by Element and Class

Very confused as to what i am doing wrong on changing this background color to red. .main-pg { border red solid; }

I've tried several different orders including:

{border: solid 4px #ff0000}

Any advice is welcome :)

index.html
<!doctype html>
<html>
  <head>
    <link href="styles.css" rel="stylesheet">
  </head>
  <body>

    <p class="main-pg">>My amazing website</p>

  </body>
</html>
styles.css
{
  .main-pg{
    border: 4px solid red;
}

It looks like your

.main-pg class selector has an opening curly bracket that’s orange, does that mean it’s counted as part of the name? Try changing that. See if it helps.

Hey Hunter,

You have an opening brace before your CSS rule? Just delete that and the rest is good.

.main-pg {
  border: 4px solid red;
}

Nice work! :) :dizzy:
