Web design and design thinking

Hey,

Do you know what is design thinking (http://designthinking.ideo.com)?

I'm interested in this subject so much that I will write my master thesis related to design thinking. Also because I'm a web designer I want to learn the ways how the design thinking can be used in web design processes.

If you have seen an article (doesn't need to be academic) where these two subject are used together please point me to it!

Hi Konstantin,

The concept of design thinking often throws some people off because they want to immediately apply it to other design projects, but in reality you're likely already doing "design thinking" on design projects. The concept of design thinking is really about taking concepts of design research, simplicity, user testing, creation, and iteration to the business side of things. You see this a lot nowadays with things like Lean Startup. In reality, the Lean Startup movement could also be considered a movement in design thinking.

Books like: "Change by Design" by Tim Brown, "Design Thinking" by Thomas Lockwood, "Thinking, Fast and Slow" by Daniel Kahneman, or any other book that also studies and addresses concepts of "Service Design" will help you see the concepts of design thinking in practice.

Thanks alot. Ill check these books that you mentioned.
