Web design: patterns

I have just finished the "Adobe Illustrator for Web Design" course. It is a good one because it teaches well the use of some tools inside Illustrator and using a basic project it includes some design principles teaching. However, i think that a second part of this course would be great: one that teaches something more interesting and relevant such as Web design patterns, and how to better organise and specify a design work (such as style guides creation). I think that TreeHouse has given a lot of great resources about Web design and development, specially, i like those from the html and css series, which are exceptionally well made. But, including more advanced topics such the one suggested about patterns would really boost all to the limits. Thanks a lot.
